"Login Failed" on SQL Developer edition 2017

Hello, im not able to login to SQL developer server even-thought the same credentials are working fine on SSMS.
is their any restrictions on that?

There are no restrictions. Could you please try to specify user with the domain if you use Windows Authentication.

Thanks for your reply… im using server authentication which is working fine on SSMS and on the application connection string but not working on sqlbackupandftp … the previous version of sql express was working fine.
what shall i do?


The weird thing is that the same credentials are working when accessing using sql remote but not working using local authentication.
we have the express version and developer version of the sql on the same machine.

We have checked the issue, but sorry we were not able to reproduce it. We can provide you with the following recommendations:

  1. Please try to use Microsoft SQL Server (local) connection and Windows Authentication. Do not click on the “Test Connection” button, but run a backup job to test if it works.
  2. Send us the advanced log:
    a. Reproduce the issue with Microsoft SQL Server (local) connection
    b. Connect using the data for Microsoft SQL Server (remote) connection
