I do daily backups on one server and send them to another server where they get restored.
On the backup side, it is possible to automatically delete older zip files. On the restore side, I haven’t found this option (the zip files that come from the other server are piling up). Does that option exist?
Hi Michael_Peters,
After the restore, the backups that have been downloaded should be deleted automatically by SQLBackupAndFTP. Could you please make sure that it works?
Sorry for the inconvenience.
hi Alexander, that doesn’t work so far. The downloaded zip files get restored successfully in the database, then they keep sitting there, piling up. Is there any setting that influences this behaviour?
(And why don’t I get email notifications from this forum?)

Hi Michael,
We have checked the issue and it seems we were wrong. SQLBackupAndFTP restore job cannot remove the backups automatically, only backup jobs can remove the old backups automatically.
Thank you for the feature request, we’ll consider it.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Hi Michael_Peters,
Could you please install the last Alpha edition https://sqlbackupandftp.com/download/alpha and check if it works for you?
We have added some improvements to the Restore job.
If you have any other questions, please let us know.
Thank you!
