Connect to MySQL Server - Test Failed (ERROR 1043 (08S01): Bad Handshake

Hi,

I’m on the 14-day trial and I’m trying to setup the nodes I wish to backup MySQL Databases.

On one of my nodes I am getting the error (See subject). I confirmed the MySQL username/password I entered is correct, so not sure why the test connection is failing.

The remote system I am having issues with is non-domain joined (The others I added are domain joined and have no issues) Could this be the problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Josh_McCracken,

To resolve this issue please specify the path to your original mysqldump at the “Advanced Settings” at the “Connection Settings” window. For example C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Workbench 6.3
