Unable to run Restore job correctly

Hi, We are hitting errors trying to restore backups from selected destination on the C:\ drive. We have been using SQLBackup for years very happily. This is happening on 4 different worksites (not connected)

How do I send you the error log? (txt file)
Cannot upload it - Tried copy and paste with BlockQuote

Hi Tony_Pitwood,

You can just post the log as a text. All you need to do is to export your log and open it via any text editor, then copy and paste the text.

Please let us know if you have any issues.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi Tony_Pitwood,

Thank you for the details. Please give us some time to check the issue.

Hi Tony_Pitwood,

Could you please clarify, have you installed SQLBackupAndFTP on the same computer where your DBMS?

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi Alexander,
Each pc has SQL Server 2012 Express running as well as SQLBackupFTP 12.2.10
I have just tried it now on one pc - making a backup and then trying to restore from that same backup - same errors (as pasted in previous query above) using a Restore job that I had set up
As I was typing the above, I thought let me try what you suggested - to restore from the History list on the right of the Backup job.
That worked OK.
My problem is that we are usually restoring Backups made on another pc, so I cannot work from the Backup History.
We haven’t had this problem before it started happening 3-4 weeks ago, but it’s already happened on 5 of my installations, and they want to know why it’s not working, and what am I doing about it? Am I going to source another Backup programme or what?
We have happily used your product for the last 5-6 years, and I would much rather have a solution.
Kind regards
Tony

Is there no possible solution to this problem of being unable to Restore?

Hi Tony_Pitwood,

We are working on this issue, please give us some time to check it.

Hi Tony_Pitwood,

Could you please clarify, do you still have this issue?

If yes, please send us the advanced log to check it. Here are more details on how to do it https://sqlbackupandftp.com/blog/how-to-send-log-to-developers

Please let us know when the log will be sent, also please provide us with the Application ID (“Help” > “About”) to identify the log.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi Alexandr,

Yes, the error still recurs – I have sent the Log to the Developers from
Advanced Logging and here are the details you asked for

SQLB2

Kind regards
Tony

Hi Tony,

Thank you for the log, please give us some time to check it.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi Tony,

We have checked your log and found out that the user from behalf whom SQL Server runs (as a rule it NT Service\MSSQLSERVER) doesn’t have enough permission to the selected folders in the backup.

Could you please check it?

Sorry for the inconvenience.

I did what I did before - went to C:\Windows\Temp folder - no SYSTEM folder but Pranas.net was there.
I tried to give full permission to Everyone but it came back with errors.
I then went to C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSql11.sql2012exp\backup folder and
gave full permission to Everyone.
And now it works!!!
Thanks for your help- I’ll see if it happens again
Kind regards
Tony
