SQL Azure database backup failed "The operation was cancelled"

Hi,

We have been using this tool to backup our databases on SQL Azure. Recently one of the database backup “700GB” in size started to fail with the error “The operation was cancelled”. Can you please help us how to resolve this problem? Our database is ReadOnly as we are taking backup from the Geo Replicated server.

Hi Matthew,

To resolve the issue, please increase the timeouts value in the following section TimeoutConfiguration->LocalSQL->Long. Here is more information on how to do it How to increase timeout values | SQLBackupAndFTP's blog

Please do not forget to restart SQLBackupAndFTP (Database backup) Windows Service after you add any changes to your Timeouts.xml file.
