Having trouble in restoring Azure Database backup to local SQL server. Failed to restore test database. Unexpected backup file extension “.bacpac” for server type “LocalSqlServer”.

Currently, there is no way to restore Azure Database backup to local SQL server, thank you for the feature request.

@Alexander Any Update if importing from Azure is in a future release? Just stumbled apon this as I am having the same issue.

Yes, now you can do it. If you have a *.bacpac file then create a restore job and use “Azure SQL Server” as your server type if the backup has *.sql extension, please use "Microsoft SQL Server (remote) as your server type. During the connection, please specify your local SQL Server’s name and use your credentials.
