Restore Database on schedule with DIFFERENT Database name from the one it was backed up as?

Hi there!

I am trying to automate some disaster recovery tasks we do and would like to use sqlbackupandftp to do this as well.

we backup 2x a day and upload the backups to 2 locations one local and one remote.

I want to also put a restore job in there daily so but change the restored DB name to from DB to DBSAND so we can automate our sandbox testing database updates AND validate backups in one process!

I don’t see where I can change the name though. any ideas?

You can achieve this by configuring a restore job. If you wish to restore the backups to a new database, simply provide the new name in the “Restore Advanced Settings” section.
