PostgreSQL - backup and restore roles

When I run a backup of my postgres (system) database do the roles defined and associated passwords in this system database get backed up as well?

In the event of corruption, how to do restore the postgres database over the existing database with the utility?

Hi darryl_schmidt,

SQLBackupAndFTP creates backups of PostgreSQL databases via pg_dump tool. Sorry, but there is no way to backup passwords and roles via SQLBackupAndFTP.

Yes, you can restore the backups in the databases with the same names. Please find more information about the restore process at https://sqlbackupandftp.com/blog/how-to-restore-sql-server-backups
