Hello ! We are using this software on workstations that are not connected to the Internet when reaches our customers. We activate the liscense in the office before shipping to the customer.
So at the customer site, the software liscense validation fails and gives constant notification that liscense is invalid the use is thus limited to one database backup ! auto backup fails.
This happens after the purchase of Light version of the software.
We can’t have our workstations connected with Internet for security reasons.
How to solve this issue ?
SQLBackupAndFTP licenses must be activated on the computer where the application is installed. The application also requires periodic license validation via the internet, at least once every 60 days .
A continuous internet connection is not necessary. If your security policy allows restricted outbound access, you can whitelist the following endpoint:
Host:api.sqlbak.com
IP address:209.133.198.58
Port:443 (HTTPS/TCP)
This will allow SQLBackupAndFTP to activate and periodically validate the license without requiring unrestricted internet access.
