How to choose custom name for destination file?

I found that the software names the (encrypted) backup file to [database][date].zip

Is there the option of giving a custom name?

I’d like to have it just be [database].zip and allow the option for overwriting any existing file.

Sure, you can do it with SQLBackupAndFTP. This setting can be found in the advanced compression settings. Please find more details at Customize backup file name | SQLBackupAndFTP's blog
