Failed to restore xxx" database on "Uncompressing" step. > Can not find backup file for xxx archive

SqlBackupAndFTP has been working fine for me for a year or so. Today however I am unable to restore backups, even those just created.

I get the following error:
Failed to restore "bn-prod" database on "Uncompressing" step. > Can not find backup file for bn-prod201812271504 archive.

The log from the backup looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/tnFjOfO.png

My settings look like this: https://i.imgur.com/tnFjOfO.png

I have tried rebooting, and changing various settings with no luck.

Hi Shea_Martin,

Thanks for the details. To investigate this case we need more information. Could you please enable the advanced log, perform backup and restore and then send logs to our dev team.

Here are more details on how to do it: https://sqlbackupandftp.com/blog/how-to-send-log-to-developers

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Alexander,

Thanks for the reply. I have sent the logs in via ‘Send Log to Developers’ button.

Hi,

Thanks for the logs, we have checked them. Could you please unzip your backup archive bn-prod and make sure that it contains the following backup file bn-prod201812271504?

Sorry for the inconvenience.

It does contain that file. I also verified that I was able to restore a backup from the contained .bak file.

Hi Shea,

We are still working on this issue. Perhaps the issue related to 7zip. To check this, could you please try to set archive format to zip (default settings) and issue backup and restore.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

I have tried using Zip, and had the same results.

Hi Shea_Martin,

Thanks for the details, please give us some time to check this issue.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi,
Sorry if I’m bringing back a dead issue however I managed to get the same problem and google brought me to the thread. I believe the issue will occur after changing the hostname of the computer after SQLBackup has been installed. It seems to keep the old hostname and causes problems at this point. I fixed by just reinstalling SQLBackup.
Regards.

Hi EdChatterton

Good news! Thanks for the reply!
