Hi, this question might sound stupid, but I just want to use the option “Backup folders” without having an sql server installed. I can’t even select a folder without beeing connected to a sql server.

SQLBackupAndFTP was designed to backup and restore DBMS, the option to backup local files and folders is the additional option and can be used only if the connection to any DBMS. Without the connection, there is no way to do it.
