Please build in an option to backup from Azure SQL Read Only Replica’s, this would greatly improve performance as the primary servers won’t be impacted.
These replica’s are only available on a premium elastic pool I think, so an option to use these replica’s would be best. Don’t think that DB snapshots would work in combination with this…
