Backup Failing Due To Special Character In Database Name

I am attempting to back up a database that has square brackets in the database name. I am receiving an error:

4/18/2023 10:00:01 PM [Error] Failed to backup “[PRD]Database” database with “Full” backup type: One or more errors occurred. > Incorrect syntax near ‘]’.

I am assuming, based on the error message, that the error is related to the square brackets in the db name. I am unable to rename the db. is there a known workaround for this?
