Queremos actualizar de versión, pero nuestra duda es si los trabajos creados con la versión 5 son compatibles con la versión 12, o se han de crear todos de nuevo.
Por otro lado, como tenemos la versión 5 Lifetime, podemos pasar a la versión 12 sin problemas, o hemos de comprar una nueva licencia.

Since you own a Lifetime edition, the upgrade is free for you.
SQLBackupAndFTP version 5 is very old and no longer supported. You can try importing your *.jobx file (which contains your backup job’s settings from version 5) into the latest release of SQLBackupAndFTP version 12.7.22 to see if it works for you.
We expect that some changes may need to be made to the imported settings.
You can download the latest release at Download SQLBackupAndFTP - SQL Server Backup Software
To import your *.jobx file, click on “Tools” > “Import .jobx file”.
