Destination error: #[DST-5:1109] Not enough space on Google Drive destination

Hello,

I have SQLBackupAndFTP configured on different clients with different databases. On each of them, we have enabled the backup to Google Drive. However, on this client the last few days, backup has been failing with this error:

"ERROR: Destination error: > > > #[DST-5:1109] There is not enough free space on “Veronika Backup” “Google Drive” destination. Quota bytes total: “16106127360”; Quota bytes used: “8282576288”; Uploaded file size: “8013011002”. "

This is weird because in Google Drive settings of SQLBackupAndFTP, I have enabled Auto delete old backups after 1 days, and I have another instance of SQLBackupAndFTP on another client, with the same configuration.

Please help me out.

Hi,

Thank you for your message.

Old backup files are deleted according to the retention settings configured in your destination settings.

If the option “Auto delete old backups after X months” is enabled, only backups older than the specified period will be removed. If your existing backups are newer than that, they will not be deleted before the new backup starts uploading.

To resolve this, you can:

  • Reduce the retention period
  • Manually delete old backups from Google Drive
  • Increase your Google Drive storage quota
